Hello! My name is Simone

This blog was created in the hopes of finding a community who shares my love of handmade arts and crafts and in doing so share with my readers the handmade items I make myself. I run a small time business on Etsy selling all kinds of handmade goodies, from jewelry to keyrings as well as other cute knick-knacks and accessories.

Ultimately, I love the feeling that comes from keeping busy and being creative, knowing that I can bring even a little bit of happiness into someone else's life.

So, why Peachylungs?

Peachylungs is the name I have gone by online since about 2006 when I was blogging on a different social network for much more personal reasons. I thought of the name randomly one day and I liked it so I've kept it ever since. Peachy + lungs are two very different ideas that one may not necessarily associate and yet somehow it works. It's quirky, cute and captures aspects of my personality perfectly and the products I make too.

A bit more about me

I'm 22 years old currently doing an Arts degree at university with a major in English and History.

I have a deep love for books and language so a career in either publishing and/or editing would be ideal though I'm not quite sure what the future holds for me yet.

My dream is to one day expand the business where I can work full time from home and raise a family. Right now, I live in a small suburban house in Sydney, Australia with my mum, dad, two brothers and grandmother (so things are a bit cramped!) and I manage the business from the tiny quarters that is my bedroom.

When I'm not attending uni I take care of my grandmother. All in all, that keeps me pretty busy! Sometimes it's challenging but it keeps me grounded and I learn new things about her everyday.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, blogging, playing video games, thrifting and the company of my best friend and partner in crime Andrew. He inspires me, helping me think up new ideas and managing the shop. We've been together since September 2009 and he is the cheese to my macaroni.
