2010 Zine Fair
So, yesterday the third annual Zine Fair was held in Sydney and I ended up going to check it out. It turned out to be a wonderful day and experience, kind of similar to the Finders Keepers Markets held bi-annually here in Sydney as well as in Brisbane. A lot of different and interesting people were there buying and selling stuff, with the main attraction of the day obviously being the zines people had produced.
There was also a lot of crafty stalls too, selling all kinds of really cutesy and fun things. It really opened my eyes to the wonderfully creative people out there, the joys of the internet and the platform it provides in allowing ordinary people, like me, to get their work out there and seen.
Needless to say, I came home very inspired and with a head full of ideas, even wanting to start making my own zines and looking into ways of getting them published.
All in all, I think Zine Fair will defs become a regular event that I intend on going to every year :)
Photos of the goodies I bought coming soon!
We needs to make our zine!!! :D Maybe make a few cute comic-like ones too? :3
ReplyDeleteI think I'd be better at making cutesy type comic zines anyway, as opposed to making arty and expressive ones.
