Happy Valentines Day!

It's nearing the end of February already which means there's about one week left before uni starts up again. I'll be going into the last semester of my BA and I'm beginning to worry a bit because I'm unsure what's next for me. I'm aiming to start my Masters half way through next year so that I can begin teaching and that will keep me busy but I'm still not 100 per cent certain if it's the right path for me (but more about that at a later time!)

Here's what I've been doing lately. All photos are taken via instagram. I've fallen in love with the app and post photos there regularly. Follow me @peachylungs

Earlier this week, I went to a fancy dress party. My brother and I dressed up as Mario and Luigi.
That was fun! :3

Valentines Day

I'd been looking forward to Valentines Day since the beginning of Feb. Despite the commercialism surrounding the day, I like to see it as a nice excuse to spoil your loved one. Personally, the little gestures mean the most to me, such as a sweet personalised card, because you can put all your little inside jokes there and show how well you truly know one another.

Andrew + I spent most of the day at home since our online uni registration opened on that day. When that was all taken care of, he came over and we exchanged presents.

He got me this adorable bunny sweater (he calls me Bunny) and a red heart keyring that I've wanted for ages.

I made him a mix CD with all the songs that remind me of him on it plus a guitar pick that I bought from NiciLaskin on Etsy.

After that, we planned on going out to a nice sushi place for dinner and to watch The Vow at the movies. This was something I really wanted to see but Andrew had no obvious interest in seeing - it being a chick flick and all - and so I decided to be sneaky by distracting him and buying tickets to see Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace in 3D in the queue.

Unfortunately, we underestimated how long it would take to actually get there (since we had to catch the bus - kind of unromantic) and after some time being indecisive about what we'd have to miss out on, I ended up revealing the surprise to Andrew. He was really keen and excited to see Star Wars, so we decided on that!

Now, I had never seen Star Wars prior to then and quite frankly I had zero interest in watching it either, least of all on the most romantic day of the year. But Andrew is a big fan and I knew it would make him really happy so it made me happy to do that for him. I did have some knowledge about the Star Wars universe though I'm mostly a newbie but I can honestly say I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. It was a night well spent! :)

Later on in the week, because we missed out on our dinner date, we went to another sushi place to make up for it. I had been there once before but it was a lot more crowded than I remember so we didn't really get a lot of room to dine comfortably but it was still just nice to be in each others company. And the food was delish! I felt a little bit greedy each time I went back for more! :3

My Mum asked me earlier in the week if I was interested in seeing The Vow with her and so we decided to have a girls night out with dinner and a movie. It was really nice just being able to sit and chat with her because it's usually quite chaotic and loud in my household! The movie was wonderful too! I know a lot of people were expecting more from it and I've heard the ending dissapointed some but I honestly loved it. I thought it was really genuine and romantic. I was expecting it to be a bit more of a tear jerker (though I admit I was weeping like a major dork in some parts) but it was still so good and so cute!
All in all, it's been a great week and going out gave me a good excuse to wear my gorgeous sweetheart earrings that I purchased from imyourpresent. I'm in love with them!

I hope your Valentines Day was amazing! xox
